Programs

The Albany County Fire Service Training Academy is a comprehensive training program designed to prepare individuals for effective wildfire response and management.
This program is open to participants aged 14-65 who are ready to engage in hands-on learning and physical training. To participate, applicants must be able to carry up to 40 pounds, have passed an annual physical exam, and received any required vaccines.
This program includes 30 hours of classroom training and 6 hours of field training, covering 6 modules: Introduction to Wildfire Behavior, Wildland Fire Fuels, Weather Impact on Wildfires, Problem vs. Extreme Fire Behavior, Equipment & Tool Utilization, and Radio Communication & Chain of Command.
